Replacing Your Windshield Wiper Blades

It's apparent immediately when your wiper blades start losing their flexibility. Streaks, rough patches and a stuttering noise all indicate they're not as young as they once were. Maintaining your wiper blades on a regular basis is one of the best things you can do to improve your safety on the road.

The heat from your windshield ages your wiper blades quickly. The rubber becomes stiff and doesn't follow the curve of your windshield, leaving gaps behind. Left alone, they will begin to split and even start losing pieces. If enough of your blade wears off, it will leave the bare metal of your wiper behind, which can scratch the glass permanently. Changing your blades takes only a few minutes, a minimum of mechanical skill and very few tools.

If you don't want to replace your wiper blades yourself, head over to Volvo Cars Glen Cove. Our qualified mechanics are happy to perform this or any other task your vehicle requires.
