Your tires are one of the most important pieces of equipment that you have on your vehicle. If you don't have good tires, you're not going to get very far. It's important that you check both tire tread and pressure. It is easy to do both.

To check your tire tread depth, you will need a penny. Place the penny into the tread space with Lincoln's head down. If you can see Lincoln's head, the tread is not deep enough. It is time to replace your tires. You also need to check for bad wear in spots on the tire and for any cracking in the sidewalls.

You also need to check your tire pressure on a regular basis. You can check these with an inexpensive tire pressure gauge. If the tires are underinflated or overinflated, you need to bring the tires to the proper inflation level to prevent tire damage.
